Best Foodie Experience in Paris

A dreamy night in Paris overlooking the gardens of the Palais Royal

Twenty Two Club was a pop up restaurant that has permanently closed, but you can visit the owners other restaurant Verjus for a similar experience.

Imagine being invited to a dinner party at an exquisite 17th century apartment in Paris. Antique furniture, rustic fireplace, and views overlooking the beautiful gardens of the Palais Royal. When Ina Garten dined at the Twenty Two Club in Paris, and posted about it, word started to get out. The setting, the hosts, and the inventive menu were becoming the talk of the town.

Named for its 22 seats around a communal table, Twenty Two Club is a dining experience created by Americans Braden Perkins and Laura Adrian. Braden being the mastermind behind all of the dishes and Laura managing all things “front of house”. Upon arriving you are escorted up a beautiful staircase where impeccably dressed men and women take your coat and offer you Champagne. Once inside the door, you get a glimpse into the amazing kitchen where all the magic happens. Aromas of garlic and herbs and other unknown entities make their way to your nostrils. The once living room, turned giant dining space, is filled with a large antique table that sits center stage alongside the gorgeous fireplace. You’re now left to sip, meet the other the guests and enjoy some hand passed appetizers. Be sure to head over to the sweeping windows so you can gaze out at the grounds of the palace.

Once dinner is ready everyone sits down and the culinary journey begins. There were six courses and the plates were beautiful, creative and delicious.

A lovely farm egg sitting in a little nest that, surprisingly, had mushrooms and herbs in a creamy sauce underneath the yoke. The scallop dish was very unique! The shell is sealed with puff pastry and then baked, it is then opened up to reveal a perfect scallop served in its own beautiful pink shell. The menu is carefully curated by the chef based on what is currently in season. The couple has their own farm about an hour from Paris where much of the produce is sourced from. Everything is high quality and extremely fresh. A true farm to table concept. The wines were all biodynamic and included some hidden gems from lesser known French appellations.

Reservations open up one month in advance and current cost is 250 euros and includes wine pairings. Non-alcoholic pairings are also available. Seatings are on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30PM. They are very accommodating with dietary restriction as long as you let them know at the time of booking. The two owners are also well known for their other restaurants, Verjus which has been operating since 2011 and Ellsworth, a slightly more casual option. Both of these are on Rue Richelieu while Twenty Two Club’s entrance is on Montpensier just around the corner.
